REQUIREMENTS FOR U.S. CITIZENS TO OBTAIN VISA TO ENTER ARMENIA
Tourist and
Visitor Visa (for Tourist or Business stay up to 120 days)
- Submit
your valid, signed U.S. passport (must have at least four
months remaining validity)

- For a stay in Armenia not exceeding 120 days, the Embassy of Armenia will process your application for a single or multiple entry Visitor Visa without an invitation letter. A tourist/visitor visa is issued for either tourist or business travel.
- For Private Visit:(staying with relatives and/or friends) Please make sure that your inviting party has verified the invitation for official travelers at the Consular Department of the Armenian Foreign Ministry; for private travelers (Visitors visa) - at the Passport and Visa Department of the Police Service in Yerevan). An original invitation will be required.
- For
tourist stays of longer than 120 days an official invitation from a
qualifying entity in
Armenia is required.
Business Travel (for stay longer than 120 days)
- Submit
your valid, signed U.S. passport (must have at least four
months remaining validity)

- Official Foreign Ministry Invitation Required (original required).

- For
stays of longer than 120 days an official invitation from a

Armenia is required.
- A business
letter of responsibility (sample) is required, to be typewritten on your
company letterhead and addressed to:
Embassy of Armenia, Visa Section, Washington DC
The letter must explain all of the following:
- Nature of
business to be performed;
- Name and
address of reference in Armenia to be visited;
- Guarantee
of return transportation and sufficient funds for the visit.
- This letter
should be signed by an officer of the company other than the applicant.

and is usually processed in 2-7 days.

Notes:
- The Armenia
visa is usually valid for entry within three months from date
of issue, for length of stay of up to 120 days. Multiple entry
visa (1 year) can be issued for stays of up to 120 days. Official invitation
from Foreign Ministry is required.
- For stays
longer than three months, a residency permit must be obtained
through the Foreign Ministry in Yerevan.
- Rush Services are not available to holders of "Permit to Re-enter the United States" or "Refugee travel Document".
- Transit
visa is required if Armenia is a stopping point to travel
on to other countries. This type of visa can be obtained only
in case of having basic visa. Transit visa is valid for three
days.
- No consular
fee is charged for children under age 18 years, and for diplomatic
visas.
- Passport
must have at least four months remaining validity and contain
at least one blank visa page for visa to be issued. TDS can
assist with obtaining U.S.
Passports, whether new issue, renewal, or obtaining additional
visa pages for a valid passport.
- Special
requirements exist for U.S. Official and
Diplomatic passport holders.
REGISTER YOUR TRIP:
The U.S. Department of State encourages all American travelers to register with their local Embassy or Consulate when arriving in a foreign country. Registration helps the Embassy to provide important services for American citizens residing or traveling abroad. Some of these services include:

Locating individuals in cases of family or personal emergencies,
-
Relaying important travel and safety information about the region,
-
Arranging evacuation transportation in cases of natural disaster or civil unrest,

Issuing replacement passports when originals are lost, and
-
A number of other administrative services relating to personal documentation.
Without the information provided through registration, the Embassy is severely hindered in its ability to provide these services. Many of these services involve emergency situations and time constraints, therefore failure to register will almost certainly lead to delays at moments when you can least afford them.
